| It hurts to never hear “I'm sorry”.
He says it for them both, but he can number out his reasons: He's sorry he'd choose the same way, again and again. He's sorry that he's all Quinn has, and twice sorry that he presumes so much. He's sorry his love is rough and raw and taut, and he's sorry that his urges and instincts and promises are never quite right enough to make things perfect. He's sorry that he hurts Quinn by loving him, and he's sorry that being hurt in return isn't enough to repair the damages.
But most of all, in this moment, he's so sorry that he's speechless, when all he wants is to whisper “I love you.” over and over. |
